Sneaker Xpo is Saturday at the Canton Memorial Civic Center
Nike Air Jordan shoes and thousands more pairs will be on sale at Stark County Sneaker Xpo from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Canton Memorial Civic Center.
John Hray, event organizer, said he was excited about the first local event, which also includes food, a DJ, prizes, raffles and giveaways.
Most gym-style shoes will be for sale, including rare shoes and “every brand of sneaker you can imagine,” Hray said. Shoe prices range from $40 to thousands of dollars.
“You always find rare and hard-to-find shoes at every sneaker show,” he wrote in an email. “We also have people who sell clothes, jerseys and vintage clothes.”
“If someone is going to a sneaker event like this, they have to drive two hours to Columbus (or) one hour to Cleveland, so we’re proud to host that in Canton,” said Hray.
A few thousand people are expected at Sneaker Xpo, where admission is $10 for students and $20 for adults. Pre-order tickets are available online for $10 at https://www.eventbrite.com/. Advance ticket sales end Friday.
The event is sponsored by Stark Flavor, Giordano’s pizza in Stark County and Grandpa’s Cheesebarn.
