Charles Oliveira and Dustin Poirier face off in UFC 269 pre-fight press conference
Oliveira will make her first lightweight title defense against Poirier, who is looking for a second chance at the belt. Poirier is coming off back-to-back wins against Conor McGregor this year.
Oliveira won the vacant lightweight title over Michael Chandler after Khabib Nurmagomedov announced his retirement from MMA. Poirier was generally expected to get the immediate shot, but he opted for a trilogy with McGregor instead at UFC 264.
Both men have seen their fair share of ups and downs during their respective UFC tenures. Oliveira and Poirier failed to win the featherweight title until later succeeding at 155 pounds.
The winner of Oliveira against Poirier will surely reign in a new era in lightweight and consolidate himself as one of the best fighters in the world at UFC 269.
