CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia (WVIR) – The president controls the executive branch, but cannot tell the legislature what to do and that means Congress sets its own rules. White House COVID-19 vaccine warrants are an option over the hill.
The office of Virginia Senator Tim Kaine said 100% of its staff were vaccinated against COVID-19.
Everyone working in Virginia Senator Mark Warner’s office should also be vaccinated, and all DC staff should get tested weekly to prevent breakthrough infections.
Rep. Abigail Spanberger and her Virginia 7th District office echo Warner and Kaine. His office is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and continues to follow CDC workplace guidelines.
Feelings are not shared on the House side with the 5th District of Virginia. Representative Bob Good’s office refuses to say what percentage of their DC staff are vaccinated.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in April that there would be no mandate for members of Congress and their staff to get vaccinated.
