He announced that a mock ballot will be held on July 18 to ensure that no vote will be invalidated and asked all MPs and MPs to vote without fail. Party whips should take responsibility for ensuring that all votes are valid. “Not even a single vote should be invalid. It is our responsibility to ensure victory for a tribal woman,” he said.
Seeking support for his presidential bid, Murmu greeted the rally in Telugu. Tracing the history of Andhra Pradesh, Murmu pays homage to poets, freedom fighters and great state leaders.
She also praised the state for its rich culture and places of pilgrimage. Stating that a new era has dawned under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she highlighted new initiatives taken to promote the development of the nation.
“The world’s attitude and outlook towards India has also undergone a drastic change. Young people in the country have developed self-confidence,” Murmu said.
She said 2022 is very significant in India’s history as the nation celebrates the 75th anniversary of independence. Murmu said his candidacy for the presidential post is a manifestation of social justice and the empowerment of women.
She sought the support and blessings of YSRC MPs and MPs and thanked Jagan for supporting her candidacy even before she asked.
Later, Murmu met with MPs and TDP MPs in Vijayawada. Naidu called his candidacy a good choice and thanked Modi for choosing Murmu for the presidential election. “We support the candidacy of Murmu, a tribal woman, because it comes down to delivering social justice,” he said.
The TDP leader said he was lucky to have backed the candidacy of four presidents, including two SCs, one from the minorities and now a tribal woman. “We wish you all the best. We are happy. As an Adivasi woman, you have risen from zero to this position. The country is watching you. For all the weaker sections, especially the oppressed, you will be a reflection” , said Naidu. .
With support from both the YSRC and the TDP, Murmu is poised to secure the votes of the 175 MPs and the 25 MPs from Andhra Pradesh. The YSRC has 151 members in the Legislative Assembly and 23 in the TDP. The only member of Jana Sena who also defected to the YSRC, his vote should also be considered in favor of the NDA candidate.
