Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India]May 08 (ANI): A music event “Jashn-e-Eid” was held at Zabarwan Park on the shores of the famous Dal Lake in Srinagar to provide a platform for young people to showcase their talent.
The event was organized by a local entertainment group with support from the Indian Army Chinar Corps.
The main objective of organizing this musical event was to provide a platform for aspiring singers and musicians and also to educate young people to stay away from drugs.
Many aspiring local singers and musicians took part. During the event, several cultural programs including music, drama and traditional Kashmiri Rouf were presented in the valley.
The public regularly wanted more programs of this type.
Speaking to ANI, Urfana Muneer, an audience appreciated the effort of the Indian Army and said that these types of events provide a platform for young aspiring artists in the Union Territory.
“The event was organized after three days of Eid. We usually don’t see such programs here. We appreciate the Indian army which always motivates the young people. This type of program should take place more so that the young people who are involved in drugs can distract themselves in this field and show their talent,” she said.
Tabish Bukhari, an organizer of the event, said the event was aimed at young people. It’s an effort to give them a platform for their talent.
“We are trying to provide a platform for young people for their talent. Young people in Kashmir have abundant talent, if they don’t get the right opportunities they can get distracted as many young people are already involved in drugs “, said Bukhari.
Shabir Ahmad, an aspiring singer, said the most talented youngsters are deprived of the right opportunity and thus involved in drugs and other bad activities.
I ask all young people who are involved in bad activities to come forward and participate in this kind of program,” he said. (ANI)
