HLLA organizes a trunk or a treat to allow children to experience Halloween together

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – Monday is the day kids can be whoever they want to be, but the fun has already begun for many.

The Chest or the Treats performed all over the Valley this weekend.

On Sunday afternoon, the Harrisonburg Little League Association held a trunk or treat event at Purcell Park.

Organizers say having it on the eve of Halloween allows children to meet in the same place to trick or treat together.

“Getting the kids here and raising awareness for the league, that’s something we’ve focused on a little bit more,” said Jared Dull, co-organizer of the HLLA Chest or Treat.

For them, it’s about bringing HLLA baseball and softball players together after their fall season ends, but inviting the rest of the community to join them is what Dull says it’s all about. .

“Anytime you can bring our community together, that’s always a plus,” Dull said. “Yeah we benefit from giving information and showing us and letting people see our brand and say hello don’t forget us but anytime you can bring the community together it’s great look at the rate of participation.”

The Harrisonburg Police Department reminds cheaters to wear reflective clothing when out on Monday nights and warns drivers to be extra careful, especially in neighborhoods.

Some localities such as Harrisonburg and Dayton have told residents they don’t do trickery and it’s best to check with your neighbors to find out when you can expect trickery at home. you.
