ATLANTA (CBS46) – In the Southeastern Conference, it just means more! Die-hard fans got the party started early in the RV park next to the Mercedes-Benz stadium.
“It doesn’t matter whether we’re in Georgia or Alabama. We are having fun. Alabama will likely win because the game isn’t on paper. On paper Georgia would win, â€said one Alabama fan.
“They’ve had their time, it’s our time now,†said one Georgia fan.
Fans also kicked off Championship Weekend in Atlanta with fun at SEC FanFare inside the Georgia World Congress Center.
“SEC Nation is here and College GameDay we’ve never seen before. Have been here several times, but not both here at the same time. So that’s really cool. It’s a really good atmosphere, â€said an Alabama fan.
You can check out everything from the SEC Championship Trophy and all the interactive games like the 40-yard dash to the third and longest wrestling and cornhole competition.
“Our kids are very competitive so they enjoyed the race and the different games and back dummies they can face,†said a Georgia fan.
And fans are already enjoying what the best college football conference has to offer this weekend.
“Definitely hitting the field goals. It was a lot of fun. Hopefully if Will Riker needs a back-up some time. I’m there for him, so I’m training on that basket, â€said one Alabama fan.
And maybe yours truly could be the Dawgs replacement. So which team has the best chance of winning? It depends on who you ask.
“Of course the Dawgs are going to win I say by 10,†said one Georgia fan.
The Big Game will air on CBS46. Kick-off is on Saturday at 4 p.m.
