Barcelona-El Prat Airport hosted 304 private flights during Mobile World Congress

Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport saw 304 private flights operated between February 25 and March 3, as part of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) special operation. This figure represents a recovery of 99% compared to the 307 private aviation operations carried out during the same period of the 2019 edition.

In terms of the origin of flights, the main countries of origin were France, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Italy, the United States and Germany.

These private flights were operated with long-range aircraft, such as Bombardier and Gulftream, and short-range aircraft, such as Embraer and Cessna.

Top-of-the-range services

During the congress, the VIP lounges at Barcelona-El Prat airport recorded 73% more occupancy than a normal week. Coinciding with the end of the congress, actions were taken on March 3 and 4 to make the stay of delegates at the airport more pleasant. Specifically, the rooms had the presence of a barista who prepared cocktails for users, a slicer of live Iberian products with tasting and, finally, a presentation and tasting of vegan products.

The fast lane saw an 84% increase in the number of users contracting this service compared to a typical week. Similarly, demand for the Meet&Assist personalized support service increased by 50% compared to a typical week.
